Four Digits: The 1,000th Post

July 24, 2009 | Author: Ibex Marketing

I made it. This is the 1,000th post for the HDTV Almanac. Over the past few years, I’ve probably written enough to fill a few books. A few of my past entries remain high on Google search positions for topics such as contrast ratio and 120 Hz refresh rates. I expect that hundreds of thousands of people have seen at least one post from the Almanac to this point. And I’ve been quoted in a wide range of traditional publications, including the New York Times and Time Magazine.

Last week I hinted that I would have some big news to share today, so here it is. Starting today, the HDTV Almanac will also be published as a column on the HDTV Magazine Web site. I’m thrilled to be included here, as this is one of the leading sites on the entire Web for information about HDTV and related home entertainment topics. As a result, the thousands of HDTV Magazine members will read about the Almanac and the daily posts.

Note that this won’t change a thing if you currently read the HDTV Almanac on my site, or subscribe to it through an RSS feed. I’m going to continue my Web site (and hopefully get to an overdue spruce up before long), so that is not going to change. But the association with HDTV Magazine will mean that I’ll be able to share my news and commentary with an even larger audience.

So thanks for all your support through the first 1,000 posts, and I hope you’ll continue on through the next thousand or two. And if you have any thoughts you’d like to share, or topics that you’d like me to cover, or even specific questions you think I might be able to help with, you can always write to me at I look forward to hearing from you.
