Backyard Movie Theater?

April 8, 2009 | Author: sysadmindgs

Friend and colleague Peter Putman (of www.hdtvexpert.com) is renowned for his HDTV SuperBowl parties, where he fills his house with displays so you won’t miss a second of the game as you move from room to room. One of my favorite tricks of his is to hang a bed sheet outside over a picture window, and then use a video projector behind it; it feels as though the game is being played on the lawn outside!

Get an inflatable screen for your backyard movie theater.

And now here’s some video fun you can have in your backyard. Open Air Cinema has announced a line of inflatable movie screens, and they’re available online from Target. They come in 10-, 14-, and 18-foot sizes, weigh 12 to 17 pounds, and include an electrical blower that keeps the ripstop nylon screens inflated. All you need to add is a combination projector/DVD player such as the Epson MovieMate, and you’re all set to have Saturday Night Movies under the stars, right in your own backyard. And you can let the squirrels take care of any spilled popcorn!
